Bracelets

My signature bracelet designs revolve around three basic styles; 1) hand forged cuffs, 2) hand made chains and clasps, and 3) woven/braided bangles.

With respect to the cuffs and some bangles, I use a variation of traditional repousse’ work to hammer designs (frost pattern, mother and child, walking in woods, etc.) into sheets of metal from which I form cuffs and bangles. The basic cuff is designed to fit a 7 to 7 1/2 inch wrist. Bangles are designed to fit an 8 to 81/2 inch hand. Smaller or larger cuffs and bangles are available upon request.

I also create hand made chains, one link at a time, soldering them and thereby creating extremely durable heirloom pieces of art. My goal is simple - to create the finest hand made chain available. Unlike your typical store bought chains which are mass produced, machine made, and unsoldered, these chains are individually hand crafted. Many of these chains take two or more days to complete. The clasp is a traditional toggle design reverse engineered from a 2000 year old Roman clasp excavated in Europe. Each clasp is individually made and tested prior to being assembled into a chain. The chains are guaranteed not to break or to come off accidentally.

The woven cuffs and bangles are comprised of separate strands of either gold or sterling silver which have been braided under heat into patterns and designs. The technique is based on an old blacksmith art form traditionally done on a much larger scale in iron, as seen in some of the 19th century iron work in Charleston and Savannah. I have developed a variation of this technique using precious metal instead of iron.
